Working at the direction of the City Manager's Office, the Communications Department oversees communication activities throughout Melissa's departments and staff to keep the community informed and engaged on all things Melissa. 

The Communications Department is responsible for: 

• Engaging our neighbors through social media and weekly e-newsletter 
• Sharing information with the community about upcoming City events
• Maintaining relationships between the City and the press 
• Crisis communications

It's spring time and The Melissa Chamber of Commerce and Kroger once again brings you our biggest bi-annual community event in Melissa - the 4th annual Heart of Melissa Spring Fest! We have grown even bigger, bringing you and your family loads of fun! The event is free to the public and open now for registration to vendors, food trucks & sponsors. We are super excited for this spring fest!

David Powell, Texas Master Naturalist, Blackland Prairie with the McKinney Heard Museum

Don't miss finding out about the impact of development on wildlife in our community and in Texas. Everyone is welcome at this important community event hosted by the Melissa Rotary Club. Others may call Dave Powell the reincarnation of Charlie Russell, but we see a modern, if traditional, man with a new vision for cowboy art. That vision is the “Code,” a sense of the soul of cowboy culture which Dave feels strongly must be preserved.
