Support for the Melissa Rotary Flag Program directly fuels meaningful work both here at home and around the world. Locally, Rotary invests in the future by providing youth scholarships, honoring excellence through Teacher of the Year awards, and supporting Melissa ISD with projects like Buddy Benches and other educational materials and programs. Rotary also focuses on leadership development, helping shape tomorrow’s leaders through the Interact Club at Melissa High School and RYLA camp sponsorships.
Community care is at the heart of Rotary’s mission. Flag program proceeds help support transitional apartments for the homeless, host blood drives, and create special events for seniors at Gala Apartments. Rotary volunteers also roll up their sleeves to improve local spaces, such as adding mulch to playgrounds to make them safer and more welcoming for children.
Beyond Melissa, the impact reaches far across borders. Melissa Rotary supports water, health, education, and clothing projects in communities throughout Africa, Cozumel, Jamaica, Kenya, and Malawi.
