NO MEETING JULY 3 – enjoy your holiday!!
New Rotary Year Information for Everyone
Our new Rotary year begins on July 1 and there are a few changes for everyone so
here’s the scoop.
DUES INCREASE
The board has approved a budget for 2025-26 that raises annual dues to $225 per
person due to Rotary International's increase.(payment plans are available) Despite
rising costs, we strive to keep dues low by absorbing other minor increases. Please also
consider that your “dues” come from the time and effort you contribute to meetings, the
flag lease program, and other club activities. The budget will be available in the
Document library.
FLAG LEASES will increase to $65 in 2026 to cover the rising costs of materials and
enable the club to continue its current projects and programs.
MEETING LOCATION CHANGES
Beginning in July we will move our two morning business meetings to The Waldon
apartments located near Melissa Rd & US 75 on the west side of the highway and south
of Melissa Rd. (2425 Central Expwy).
Lunch meetings will remain at the Melissa ISD Board Room.
The 4th Thursday evening activity will be a Social Happy Hour each month at The Red
Feather, 2617 Sentinel Way #400. We will invite the community to stop in and share
some friendship time with us. This is come-and-go and we encourage you to invite
everyone you know! The Red Feather will extend happy hour prices for us from 6-
7:30pm each month.
Last week, Brooke Taylor, Emergency Management Specialist with the Melissa Fire Department gave a disaster preparedness talk to our Rotary Club. We also had Todd Bachli of the Berry Farm Neighborhood who spoke about their neighborhood GMRS radio network. It's been very successful and they transmit out the sky warn ham radio net to the GMRS net during storm activations. They can also hear what is being reported to the NWS real time.
