The Melissa Community annual Chili Cook-off, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Melissa, has brought together volunteer chefs from the community to raise funds for the Rotary International Foundation Polio Plus project to eliminate Polio around the world.Tasters vote with their dollars! In September 2025 and February 2024 hundreds of dollars were raised to improve health, provide quality education, improve the environment and alleviate poverty.
In 2025, the chili cookoff and winner prize was sponsored by HEB, providing for donations to go to global Rotary projects.
