This Week’s Speaker: Jennifer Shelton, CEO of Real Options

This Thursday, the Melissa Rotary Club welcomes Jennifer Shelton, CEO of Real Options and a nationally recognized speaker with more than 22 years of experience in the pro-life movement.

Jennifer began her career as an abstinence educator and authored the 180 Degrees curriculum. During seven years in education, she traveled across the country and spoke to more than 300,000 teenagers and parents about healthy relationships, personal worth and the beauty of purity.

Recognizing that college students are especially vulnerable when facing unexpected pregnancies, Jennifer created Real Options on Campus. The program established student organizations on college campuses so help would be readily available when a student needed it most.

After serving on college campuses for three years, Jennifer became executive director of Real Options. During her seven years in that position, the organization expanded its reach through satellite clinics and a mobile clinic. She now serves as CEO, leading efforts to offer practical assistance, compassion and the love of Jesus Christ to women, men and couples facing difficult pregnancy decisions.

Jennifer’s connection to this mission is also deeply personal. Adopted at birth, she grew up grateful to the young woman who chose life for her. Her journey through infertility and miscarriage later deepened her compassion for others experiencing grief and uncertainty.

Jennifer and her husband, Rich, have been married since 2009. Their greatest joy is their daughter, Ava Jane, whom they lovingly describe as their miracle child.
