As a District we will be participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in The Colony at 8 am on Saturday September 28th. Registration is free and the District will have a sponsor table at the event. Donate and/or Register here Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million family and friends provide their unpaid care. We need your help to end this devastating disease. So far numerous Rotary clubs in District 5810 have contributed, and we are well on our way to our goal of $5,000. District Governor Regina Edwards' husband Ken Edwards selected this charity as the "DG spouse's charity" as it is dear to his heart. Both his mother and grandmother died of complications from Alzheimer's after suffering many years. Please join our team. Food - Bob Wales Ken Truax, a polio survivor and past president of the Melissa Rotary Club will talk about the global impact of Rotary though the Polio Plus program. Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for over 35 years, and our goal of ridding the earth of this disease is in sight. You do not need to be a Rotarian to make a difference through the Rotary International Foundation. The Melissa community can support the Rotary International Foundation directly, or by giving through the local Melissa Rotary Club. |
